Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
- Cut the loaf into 1-inch cubes and spread them evenly in the prepared dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs until smooth.
- Add in the milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until thoroughly combined.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread cubes. Gently press down to help the bread soak up the custard.
- Cover the dish tightly and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for the best flavor.
Baking
- After chilling, uncover and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, until golden on top and set in the center.
- Allow the casserole to rest for 5 minutes. Slice and serve warm.
