  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix For lower sodium, use low-sodium ranch mix or make a quick ranch blend.
  • 10.5 oz can cream of chicken soup Can substitute with cream of mushroom soup or a mixture of heavy cream and chicken stock.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Use low sodium if preferred.
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese Optional for topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Lay the chicken in a single layer in the bottom of a Crock Pot.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the ranch seasoning, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper until smooth.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken, ensuring each piece is coated. If using vegetables, tuck heartier ones like carrots or bell peppers under the chicken.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours without lifting the lid.
  2. The chicken is done when an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part reaches 165°F.
Finishing Touches
  1. About 10 to 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle shredded cheddar over the chicken and replace the lid to melt the cheese.
  2. Garnish with chopped parsley or chives before serving.

  1. Serve the saucy chicken over rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.
