Preparation
- Cook boxed mac and cheese according to package directions, or reheat leftover mac or chicken Alfredo gently until very hot.
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced jalapeños and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring, until softened and fragrant. If using hot sauce, add it in the next step.
- Add the hot mac and cheese or Alfredo to the skillet and stir to coat the pasta in the pepper-infused oil, or pour hot sauce over it and stir to distribute.
- Mix in 1 cup of shredded cheese, stirring until melted and glossy. Add a splash of milk for extra creaminess if desired.
- Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, then taste and season with salt and pepper. Adjust hot sauce or jalapeños to increase heat as desired.
- Serve immediately while hot, ensuring the cheese remains gooey.
