Ingredients

For the salmon
  • 4 pieces salmon fillets (6–8 oz each), skin on or off
For the glaze
  • 3 tbsp melted butter (unsalted preferred)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (fresh is best)
  • 1 tsp paprika (sweet or smoked) to taste
  • 1 tsp brown sugar (or maple syrup/honey as a swap)
  • 1 tsp dried parsley (or 1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • as needed Lemon slices (optional, for topping)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, paprika, brown sugar, dried parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  3. Line a baking tray with foil for easy cleanup. Arrange the salmon fillets skin-side down, leaving space between each piece.
  4. Generously brush the butter mixture over the tops and sides of each fillet. Optionally, add a thin lemon slice on each fillet.
Cooking
  1. Bake the salmon for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets. The salmon is ready when it flakes easily with a fork.
  2. Once done, remove from the oven and spoon any pan juices over the fillets before serving.
