Ingredients

Beef Mixture
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 for optimal flavor)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika for a hint of smokiness
Sandwich Assembly
  • 4 slices bread choose from white, whole wheat, or sourdough
  • 4 slices cheese cheddar or any favorite melting cheese
  • to taste butter for toasting the bread

Method

Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until it’s completely browned and no longer pink.
  3. Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent and soft.
  4. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Remove from heat and set aside.
Assembling Sandwiches
  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread. On the unbuttered sides, evenly divide the beef mixture and layer on a slice of cheese.
  2. Top each sandwich with another slice of bread, ensuring the buttered sides are facing out.
Grilling
  1. Place a clean skillet over medium heat and add the sandwiches.
  2. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
  3. Press down gently on the sandwiches with a spatula to promote even melting. Once done, transfer to a cutting board, slice if desired, and serve hot.
